China Goodhue is an artist who loves life and is inspired by colour.

At sixteen she picked up a paintbrush and never looked back. From her early days on Saltspring Island, China was passionate about art and color. At eighteen she traveled to Europe and pursued her love of art in the galleries of London, Paris, Florence and Venice. Life in the streets of London, light in the South of France, the red and yellow earth of Rousillion, all inspired her.

She studied textiles in Gloucestershire and drawing and painting in London, England. Returning to Canada, she earned a Diploma of Fine Art at Victoria College of Art.

In 2002 China opened a studio on Granville Island in Vancouver, Canada. She continued to make and show her signature textile pieces, saturated colour with acrylic pigments on natural cotton.

China co-wrote a song with Rick Scott that was featured on his CD "Making Faces". Her textile work was featured on the cover of the Rick Scott CD "Philharmonic Fool." One of her paintings is showcased at www.wildflowersong.com.

She moved to Protection Island in 2004, opening a home studio and gallery there.

As well, she exhibits at the Joan Carol Gallery in Bellingham, Washington, USA.

Her work is in private collections in England and the United States as well as in Canada.
